I finished Pip last weekend. I am not sure about the stiffness of the cotton bias edge. I may tear out and go back to a softer gauze bias. I liked how gauze laid flat against your skin, the cotton bias is fine, sits up a bit, but makes a nice edge protection. I also flipped the bias covered gathers at the side to the outside for an accent. I love the easy going fit of this pattern, so very comfy! and lovely in this double gauze!
I love the graze gauze! Think I will try a PIP-- looks so cool.
Gorgeous! And loving the cotton edge... fantastic pattern I think too....
I love the cotton bias. The contrast is great.
An update on my Pip....I have been wearing this shirt all summer. I have come to love the cotton bias addition that I was not sure about ...it is waring just fine! I had meant Pip to be a studio work shirt but ... FYI ...the 'sleeves' do have a limitation with arm movement....not that that is bad because I really love the way the opening for the sleeves, with it's drapey shoulder thing going on, is great! Just remember this is not a work shirt...but I love it as an end of a hard days work loungey shirt to relax in the evening, with a bit of needlework before going to bed or watching a movie at home. Tina G's images of Pip as an evening out wearable will definitely fill the ticket too! It is very fun to wear!
@attedragon i love the floral binding? Do you fold your bindings the front or to the back. I read on Pinterest if you sew them on facing the wrong side of the fabric and press them to the front and top stitch them down they won’t have that stiff look. I’m going to try it!
the fabric is great really fun top love what you made
