Well I thought I might wait to post this until I’d finished all three pieces, but I am currently completely out of white and ivory thread, so finishing this three piece ensemble is now waiting on thread delivery. Here are the Plinka pants in medium weight oatmeal colored linen and the Sugar slip in white medium weight linen. First the pants: these are my first try at Plinka and I didn’t modify the pattern except to put a small ruffle (same fabric) along the tops of my pockets. Now for some reason one leg looks longer than the other, but I’ve measured these legs three times and they are the same length so I don’t get it. The pleats and ruffle add up to a whole lot going on around my ankles but I think it’s fun with such a simple top. But I’m wondering, do you aLeary’s attach the ruffle at the hem when you make these? Ever skip the ruffle altogether? As for the tunic, you will see I removed about 10“ from the Sugar slip and just left a simple raw hem. My idea is that I want to make the sleeveless Tala in sheer white linen as the final piece to wear over these two Items.
When my thread comes I’ll show the complete ensemble!
