I finished my Sam shirt I have sewing burnout from all the shapes I put on. Don't think I ever sewed this much with a frayed edge before, interesting 🤔 Haven't worn it yet,

it is heavy even though I sewed it in cotton chambray with silk shapes. Think I'm going to take a break a scuplt in clay while the storms come through. Happy weekend
Wow! You are fast! This turned out great and very like the pattern. I’m inspired to make this out of cotton jersey and use different shapes for my appliqués. Maybe leaning more toward Alabama Chanin-ish. Good job!
I was thinking the same thing. In fact, the Alma two layer pattern really lends itself to it. I saw a technique using a double-eyed single needle where you only thread the upper hole & use a wide zig-zag stitch --- it makes a very long straight stitch. I haven't tried the technique yet but it beats all that hand work.
That sounds so cool. Would love to see it!
Thankyou
Wow simply amazing. I’m looking to wait till winter and use darker colors.
I haven't done it yet. I bought the needles awhile ago & completely forget until now. I need to play with it & make some samples.
Jeez merfaerie, you´re one incredibly hard-working sewist... that ist really gorgeous. I love the design und the ideas, but knowing that these sort of caftans don´t work for me, I am not tempted to make it for myself. Maybe another project fits to try out these nifty appliques.
