Thanks Ladies!!! I hope to get to try both of your tips out. Right now I am trying to creating my 5 yo grand daughter a egg gathering apron apron for her bday in a cpl of weeks oh yeah and throw in work...how is a woman to craft when work always seems to get in the way...
I don’t recognize it specifically as a TG pattern. I do know after I saw this I knew I had Abercorn sitting in my closet that I was very unhappy with. it came out beautifully, but it was just another white top... nothing special.
So, I decided I would use it as a test test dummy. I had made it in handkerchief linen and had yards of bias 2“ binding that I could use for the flowers. I changed the way the bottom was hemmed by loosely folding up an inch hem on the bias, and then edge stitching it. I hung the top on my dress form and hand stitched my funky little folds up and across from the side seam (2 of them). Then stitched them on the machine. Then on some netting I made 3 flowers. By starting in the center I released my feeddog so I could freeform stitch and pleated each one as I went. I made them separately. Then I sewed them on the top.
Sorry it’s not pressed, the power is out in our neighborhood and they say it won’t be back on till after 6:30 Pm. It’s only 103 degrees outside right now. 🤦🏼♀️ Anyway, I think this turned out pretty cute even without ruffles.
Oh my gosh that is great!!!! You need to do a turtoial and show us how...you make it sound way easier that it probably is....I hate that your without power. Down here in Southern Oklahoma it ain't much better but I am thankful for our AC after hearing your scorching story...hope it comes back on sooner than later...
So much inspiration! Deborah your Abacorn looks beautiful! Not boring ant more! I will be trying to make some too and I’m going to check out this book 😍
not that I know of and I have all her patterns, Krista Larson does rose applica on everything. Joann fabrics has fabric with the flowers sewn on it. The Julia has flowers sewn on it but they are flat.
They're made like holdover binding but seen with the scant seam into spiral. Press lightly so the seam is in the center.
Be sure to cut your fabric on the bias or it won’t roll in the circle. Play on a muslin before you put in on your actual piece of work.

Those flowers are gorgeous! Thank you ladies—something new to try!

Yes. But I seem to remember a TG image with the same type of detail.
