The Platinum Membership is great, I had no idea! all the download PDFs are free!!!!!! Fabulous deal, I now can collect all Tina's fantastic designs and download for instant gratification.
Weekends are for sewing, my new alternative to shopping. I keep a stash of fabrics, when I see great deals or a piece of fabric I love, buy it, because it will be gone when I come back. On my table Pia in Moda Grunge Japanese cotton, Trinka and Farah in Tina Givens cotton prints I purchased online at fabric.com just yummy her prints in voile and cotton.
Just washed and hanging in the background my new Elope top and pant, the Cara top, Clover, Daniella pant, and in TG voile Adelle. I always sew than wash and hang to dry, love the wrinkles
Hope everyone is getting a chance to do a little sewing this weekend.
You have a good eye for fabric and are obviously a very talented seamstress. Please tell me you did not sew all of that in one weekend!!
No too funny it is the wash hanging
Again I just looked at all of your clothing pictures. Wow what a seamstress!!!! And I thought I had lots of clothes😊
Thanks my wardrobe is all TG
I joined the Platinum club the other month because of being able to download the patterns as I had already bought and had shipped to the UK 4 patterns ! I’ve already made six garments from the downloads. ( my membership covered ) . I have been sewing my own clothes for over 36yrs with conventional patterns and always had problems with them, with TG patterns I know if i measure correctly all will be ok , although I did have a bumpy start with the membership and thought I had made a big mistake as it took over a month to get me set up! i have no idea why but happy now and downloading.
Hi nikki40b. Maybe it‘s a UK thing? I signed up to platinum a few days ago but the website is still trying to charge me to download patterns. I’ve tried everything but I‘m definitely not getting access to the free downloads that are meant to come with the membership. I’m reassured to hear your membership worked out in the end. I‘m trying not to feel annoyed and frustrated at the moment when all I want to do is start sewing! :/
@kitmoonflower I know it drove me mad, but it did eventually come through it wouldn’t hurt to try e mailing if you haven’t already I tried everything. As you say so frustrating, my membership has been extended by a month. Good luck and happy sewing.
@nikki40b Thanks. I’ve emailed a couple of times but I’ll keep trying. In the meantime at least I have access to the workshops and free-bees, which will keep me busy for a while :D
merfaerie...YOU ARE AMAZING at how much, how unique the fabrics are, and at how FAST you sew! Not to mention HOW WELL YOU SEW!!! When do you have time to make your art dolls??? I'm eventually going to find one of your Mermaid art dolls to purchase!!!! You are very artistic and blessed with such seamstress skills! My mother was a lot like you. Except in those days she only had McCalls and Simplicity patterns to use. But, she had the eye for embellishing and colors and sewed constantly, not unlike you! Lucky you!!! To have time to sew. I babysit way to often and seem to tired to sew in the evening! Little ones are fun, but run Grandma ragged! LOL! Debra
Thankyou your very sweet
Oh merfaerie...when I said my mother was a lot like you...that was when she was in her 20's to about 50's. NO comparison in age is meant! I think you look like you are about my sister's age...maybe 55ish? I'm 66. I'm just saying...YOU are NOT old enough to be my mother. I don't want to offend you! Just saying you and my mother had sewing in common! I'm trying to get 4 dresses sewn--that are sitting on my sewing table as I speak--all cut out except for the neck lining and pockets! And ruffle pieces! I'm having a difficult time finding time...TO SEW. Maybe late tonight or tomorrow morning!
Debra
no worries, I'm a very happy senior at 63, and I sew in the morning for a hour everyday, figuring out the time is hard. looking forward to seeing your outfits
Karen
@debburke4 I hear you! I have 4 sitting also. Between the vegetable garden, the grandkids and the house. I’m running on empty this summer. At 60 I ought to feel a LOT younger. I think it’s the heat and humidity this year. Just finished 1 Saturday, will post separate
@merfaerie Noooooo! Don’t tell me that. I’m just now getting my collection of Tina G’s patterns under control thanks to my husband. I’ve over a 100 and haven’t even begun to make a fraction of those. I collect her patterns like some people collect spoons. Lol.
I also collect her patterns. Have pretty much all of them. And don’t even get me started on fabric. Closets full. My favorite collectible. I have six cutout with not much time to sew. I am a caretaker for my husband who had a major stroke seven years ago. The magazine, the patterns and sewing them is my therapy for a stressful life. when I get something put together I will share it.
