I am currently making a book at the moment but I am still trying to keep weekends free for my sewing! I am so in love with it!
I made this Etra with 'truffle grey' linen from LINENGRAPHY on etsy (my favourite place at the moment for linen as their linen is AMAZINGLY soft, even the heavier weight stuff they have). I thought this truffle grey would be a lovely match for the Joliene I made and turned into a skirt... and sure enough, it was! The skirt is in 'dogwood' from the same shop. Both 190gsm weight.
I altered the neckline and lengthened the dress.
I also finally made a shirt for my darling Matt!! It's from a fairly lightweight linen but I can't remember where I found it. (lighter weight than the above linen anyway).
I am SO thrilled with how it came out, and so is Matt! The only problems I had were the tension of the thread on the hem so it's a bit wavy (frustrating!) and where the hem went into the placket had to be bodged a bit, but I will be prepared for next time. I'm going to make one in Plum linen left over from the kimono I made for him which is a slightly heavier weight so ideal for fall.
I am going to set up a weekend after i've launched my book to make myself a dress and trouser block so I can start making my own designs again. I want to create a really fantastic coat!
