just finished the Elope top and pant, the sketches in the directions were fantastic, since I sew from pictures, but really fun to sew. Made the top out of lightweight linen and the pants are sewn in Moda Grunge Japanese cotton. I lengthened the top because I'm tall, but the pant length is short for me which is fine for Summer, and a slimmer fit than most of her pant patterns, which is nice for a change. Definitely will make outfit again just love both pieces, I'll post a picture when I wear it.
Oh my that’s so great. I cannot wait for my pattern. Great job!
I couldn't wait and got the PDF, love this outfit
Amazing as usual!
thanks
Really nice. .
thanks
I’ve just finished the Elope too and went wacky with the pants I will also lengthen the top next time, it was all very easy and fun to make didn’t take long at all, I actually made two pairs of pants one in a Plain Chambray.
Really nice. I made the top and pants this past weekend. I agree, it was easy to make.
Beautiful. Love the blue. Great combination
Thank you , it was a very inexpensive organza but I’m hoping to find and splash out on some silk organza next time.
@nikki40b, the cheapest place I‘ve found silk organza is https://www.dharmatrading.com/fabric/silk/silk-organza-fabrics.html
It comes in black and white (and of course they have every type and color of dye in the universe!). It’s between $6 and $9, depending on color and width. I haven’t ventured into dying yet. Still trying to learn to sew, lol!
@jennibuginpink thank you , i live in the UK and the import tax would be really expensive, I’ve been caught before. I think I may have found some in a bridal shop but it’s more than $9 !.
@merfaerie @nikki40b ?? I need to know about the length on the pants. I’m 5’2” -5’3” depending on my posture and I want my pants ankle length because I’m making them for early fall into cooler weather. if you made them by the pattern, without any adjustments can you give me the outer leg measurements please? I’ll use a S/M but can guesstamate the difference if you tell me what size you used. Thank you. Deej.
I thought the pants ran very short for me, if I didn't adjust the length they would have been just below my knees. Also it is a slimmer fit, so I made the second pair in a 3X, I like my pants big and lose. But I'm 5'10 and wear a XL or 2X. They should be perfect for you but possibly a size larger than you usually wear.
@merfaerie so make a m/l in order to have them fit correctly. 😬
Hi @deejfred I am about your height and the pants are 20 inch long from inside leg. As @merfaerie said they do come out as a slim fit so I made mine in the biggest size as I don’t like tight, they come to about 2.5 / 3 inch above my ankles which I like as I wear boots and I knit beautiful Scandinavia socks which I like to show.
