If at all?
I am torn between the Mia dress (I have had the physical pattern for it for a couple of years now and have some very fine indian block print cotton that would work well I think) - anyone else made the Mia and have you got any examples of what it looks like on real people and not models? :) My other plan if I don't make the Mia is to make a TG pant or Abacorn!
Also, I don't know if any of you are in the UK in here, but we have a show called 'The Great British Sewing Bee' (kind of like the Great British Bake Off but WAAAAY better) and it's just started, first 3 episodes have happened already. If you have any way of downloading it, you MUST! It is so delightful and fun. Amateur sewers getting set challenges each week.
Thanks for the tip on the show. I’ll see if it’s available on Netflix or Amazon. I love sewing shows. I just finished a Priscilla slip and I’m making a Sugar slip to go over it, or I can wear the pieces separately. I’ll show and tell when done. I’m going to look at Mia.
I don't think the show will be on Netflix or Amazon, but MAYBE it would be in the US, if it's showing on BBC here. Wherever you normally get BBC shows shown, maybe that's where it will be! https://www.thegreatbritishsewingbee.co.uk
I'm planning the priscilla and sugar at some point too - was that after seeing it in Sychil? I love that look.
i think I can watch on You Tube so I’ll take a look. Yes. I saw Priscilla and Sugar together in Sychil. I was inspired to do the Sugar in A Small gray print and the Priscilla in a blushy peachy pink. So far I’ve been having little luck finding voile in the little prints I want so I’m using a mid weight cotton. The pieces may be too heavy for summer here (94 degrees Fahrenheit ) worm together but I’m making them up anyway. I’ll share when they are finished.
@Emily Truthfully, I cut out Mia once and it was so big through the shoulders I just put it up and didn’t mess with it anymore. Abacorn is a favorite. I made the alternate version in my post Bella Daniella. Check it out if you want to see what it looks like. @Pamela made Jaqueline pants and has inspired me to make them this weekend.
I made the Mia in a not too stretchy knit shown here on size 20 dress form
Ooh lovely!
It is really big and long on
Beautiful!
As always... lovely.
Oh, very nice! This might be my 2nd pattern to make as a new member. Thank you for sharing!
