WORKSHOP
#1 Cultivating a personal color palette and adapting sewing patterns for your silhouette is at the forefront of this workshop series. We will focus our energy on a simple process to unveil how color relates to you and what color can reveal about you. We will explore skin tone and color balance, patterns, and solids - how they work for you and within your collection.
#2 We will redefine how we view our body shape and perfect our garment choices in silhouette. We truly don't have to adhere to any rules but I think you'll like our bent-rule approach to getting the look you want.
Workshop travels through body shape and measurements; creating our own 'moulage' and then onto a pattern block that is perfect for our own body, and a look at adapting patterns to fit that block to our preference; and lastly creating our own patterns!

PART 1 COLOR
By delving into our own stories (within the wardrobe planner) we identify personal concept and style. This builds a foundation to begin the review of basic principals in editing our mood boards to achieve our personal look! Color is a primary step, whether it is within the bright, neutral, or pastel color palette groups. Once there, we move to prints or solids, or both! Color & Pattern are the most powerful visual tools we have in our wardrobe and home. Color not only enhances or hides what we wish, it influences the mood of a garment or room. Color has an unconscious emotional pull, which is why it is so important to have a basic understanding of how it works. I look forward to exploring this with you!
PART 2 BODY SHAPE AND FIT
As unique as we are inside, we are just as different on the outside! Fit is by far one of the most challenging elements in garment design. In offering sewing patterns - either our size charts are loose for roomy styles or as specific as we can be, for more fitted pieces. In either case, many of us are in-between sizes and then again we differ in limb shape or height or waist. There are just too many different body types, ranging from apple to pear, diamond to square, tiny to large, and within those 'labels,' we differ even more. COLOR, HUE & YOU offers insight into garment shape, length, and layers for all shapes and sizes.
